Hi Babi,
Please note that: I’m not the one that posted the message above.
But I would think you can go as high as you want depending on how many shelves you would like above your desk.
You could even make it a stand up desk with more storage at the bottom (i would put some baskets on those below shelves to store stuff without looking messy.)

What an ingenious idea this is and this 2 in one desk idea also saves space!!
