If cured, it burns longer and and hotter than oak, I believe. We heated a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with it in the Midwest for a few years..

All Elm is precious as it’s supports the nationally threatened White-letter Hairstreak Butterfly, of which exclusively breeds on Elm.
