I don’t want to rain on your parade but the problem number one of any builder is the freaking asinine bureaucrats you have to deal with for the minutest of things, like a roof being 6 inches too tall for a house that’s in the middle of nowhere and cladding a house with new siding if the extra few inches puts it now within the protected margin around a lake or a river, and I speak from experience!

If you don’t have an army of engineers, lawyers and architects to lobby the dim-witted authorities for anything that is not specifically circumscribed in the Code, you can just forget about it!
