Handcrafted decorations are something we all want for our homes, but can’t quite afford it every time there’s an occasion for improving the interior design. This Easter though, you can turn to this trick in order to make your dinner table look a little bit more beautiful. Here is what you need to have and make in order to fashion some DIY Lace Patterned Easter eggs:

• a couple of strips of lace;
• a few mini hair elastics;
• some dye;
• a bunch of eggs;
• a bowl of boiling water;
• some vinegar;
• scissors;
• (optional) needle and thread;

Take as many bowls and strips of lace as colors you want to use on your eggs. Cut the lace into squares of material and place each egg into a little bag you fashion with lace and an elastic hair band. Tie up securely because you don’t want the egg to get away while in the water. Hold it from the top and submerge it into the bowl of hot water, vinegar and dye. After 5 minutes have passed, take it out and marvel at what an impressive and beautiful pattern you just applied to an ordinary egg. You can use the strips of lace after you have finished, with other eggs you didn’t color yet. Just cut a transverse (like a finger-less glove) piece of it and sew it simply in the back. The Easter table looks so much creative with these designs!

Make sure the eggshells have the opening as wide as the candles, because they will have to fit inside. Clean and maybe wash them with care before applying the desired color. Remove the membrane as well from the egg as well. Take a bowl of warm water and combine with vinegar and the food coloring of your choice. Then dip the shell in this mix for 5 to 10 minutes and place it away to dry. Repeat the process with every eggshell and color. Finally, position the candle in each and lit it up. They look great!

This Easter surprise your friends with some special woven eggs. Don’t worry if this is the first time you weave eggs, as this is not as hard of a process as it may seem at first. Make sure you have a free afternoon when starting this project as it may take a bit of time to figure out how to make the woven eggs. But once you learn the technique, the rest will come naturally and the result will be fabulous. You will only need:

• newspaper;
acrylic paint (4-5 different colors);
• some glue;

Start by painting the newspaper tubes in different colors. You can make the eggs colorful by using different colors of paper or more uniform by using only a single color. Select 5 newspaper tubes. Take 2 longer tubes, place them on the table to create a plus sign, then glue the other 3 tubes to it, as shown in the picture. In the end you will have a shape that resembles a star. Take the tubes that it’s on the right side and place it on the top of the third tube. Now do the same with the following tube, but place it on the top of the fourth tubes. Continue doing this until you stacked all the tubes one on top of every second one and it starts to look like and Easter egg. When you reach the top of the egg, secure with glue and cut any excess of newspaper. You can make as many eggs as you like and place them in a basket or give them to your friends as Easter gifts.
