Looking for ways to enjoy a remote weekend after the lockdown ends? Well, then you might consider this great silo house listing on Vrbo.
The owner of this silo-mansion is renting the home and just wait until you see all the amazing features. Besides being located near a beautiful pond, the Silo Farm Haus is also right in the heart of the wine county of Missouri, USA.
The remote silo is built on a farm and thanks to its great location, you can reach 9 local wineries and great restaurants in just a few minutes. The silo has been on the farm for a long time and it was originally used as a grain storage unit, but the owner decided to turn it into a guesthouse recently.
The silo-home has 800 square-feet and can sleep up to 4 people. Inside you will find an upstairs loft with a queen-size bed, a fully equipped kitchen with everything you might need to prepare your meals, a beautiful living room, and extra mattresses which can sleep an additional 2 persons.
There is also a large bathroom downstairs and a laundry room, so the Silo Farm Haus offers the entire experience of a home away from home.
And if all these weren’t enough, the front porch offers plenty of space for you to spend some quality time outdoors before going for a walk, riding a bike to the nearby vintage market or enjoying a nice glass of wine in one of the local wineries.

Victorian Farmhouse Grain Bin Home https://goodshomedesign.com/victorian-farmhouse-grain-bin-home/ https://goodshomedesign.com/victorian-farmhouse-grain-bin-home/#comments Mon, 20 Apr 2020 02:26:47 +0000 http://goodshomedesign.com/?p=50418

This farmhouse is an eco-friendly family retreat built out of grain bins, recreating the looks and feel of a Victorian-styled home. The two grain bins were used to create the sidewalls of the house and then rest was built around them.
Being a Victorian-era-inspired home, the interior also features some traditional elements from that period, such as a large dining table place in the center of the house. This central diner is the space where the family can gather, spend game nights together and reconnect. There is also a large living room that can host a large group of people when having friends over and a fully equipped kitchen.
Grain silo homes are great as they have such a unique design and look very different from traditional ones, and offer plenty of possibilities to get creative with the interior space.

Mark Clipsham, Architect

This Victorian Farmhouse could be a functioning farmhouse, or it could be a starter/affordable home, rental, student housing, timeshare, vacation/lake house or rural office. This represents a better way to build affordable housing that is familiar, but different. The design features two 18 ft steel grain bins and a framed center bay, to bring down the scale and allude to a Victorian style.

This Man Used a Cylindrical Sheet Metal Grain Bin as a Weekend Home https://goodshomedesign.com/this-man-used-a-cylindrical-sheet-metal-grain-bin-as-a-weekend-home/ https://goodshomedesign.com/this-man-used-a-cylindrical-sheet-metal-grain-bin-as-a-weekend-home/#comments Thu, 26 Feb 2015 00:07:58 +0000 http://goodshomedesign.com/?p=25649 metal-grain-bin

Here’s an out of the ordinary idea for a vacation home that will leave you speechless and will make you wonder if it would be a good option for you too. Take example from M. J. Gladstone, who used a cylindrical grain bin to create his dream house in Germantown, N.Y. He originally wanted an octagonal vacation home, but what resulted is a merge between differently shaped living spaces.

Gladstone

The reason he wished for a rounded house was, that it offers way more options when it comes to the interior decoration than a regular shaped house with rectangular rooms. Dispersing the furniture in a rounded room can prove to be a real challenge, but it also provides an excitingly new vision upon things. The idea of using a grain bin came from Manhattan based architect Michael Altschuler, who did an amazing job creating a large area of 450 square foot with a living room and a bedroom.
