If you take a closer look at bird’s nests, you’ll observe their intricacy and craftsmanship required to build them.
Conservationists have long observed hummingbird nests, and this next one is very special as it even has a tiny roof. Bianca Caroline Soares observed a branch near her home in Paraguay and found a tiny hummingbird building a nest there for her soon to be born babies.
She told that the creativity of the nest had captured her attention, as she is used to seeing hummingbird nests, but none of these had a small roof before.
Soares kept on observing her new neighbor and soon learned that there was a small family of 3 living there with 2 newborns. It is such a beautiful example of motherly love and how nature can live in harmony with humans if habitats are protected.

This 196 square feet home is remarkably designed and built. On top of a 24x8foot flatbed trailer, recycled or reclaimed materials were used to construct a much cheaper and beautiful residence. Wooden pallets are used for the siding and the roof is of elastomeric or expanded aluminum. Every inch of the interior is used to the maximum. Carefully picked decorations complement the all white interior paint.

A large living and kitchen area share the space with a large comfortable bed on top of shelves and storage facilities. A combination of brick and wood panels and wallpaper make you notice all the little decorations that make the whole place livable. The interesting 3 piece lamp, above the cozy lounge chair, challenges the uniqueness of the lights above the stove and kitchen sink. All in all, this way of building a home is cheaper than a full house, and it also gives you a little bit of mobility as well.

The materialisation of this house is a dream come true for the owner. This house was built in Germany, in the town called Zell and what is the most astonishing about it is the stone used in the whole design. It was built by Walter Andre and it looks as if it just got out from a fairytale, and everything from its fantastic roof to it’s sandstone windows points in that direction. The shape of the roof makes this house stand out, and its unusual shape also reflects the skills of the architect. The roof is made out of several stones, all shaped in different form and matched together on site. The other decorative elements of the roof, such as the lizard and the interior design of the house make this space a special and unique one. Many decoration pieces were purchased online and come from several parts of Europe, such as Belgium and Poland. This truly is an example of how impressive human imagination can be when it is paired with the right skills.

The beautiful SGNW House was designed by Metropole Architects and is embedded in the lush vegetation of Zimbali, South Africa.  According to the official description provided by the architects, “several bodies of water, including Koi ponds, water features and a rim flow swimming pool appear to coalesce into one, and flow through the house and out into the forest. The stacked roof is

fragmented and linked with flat roof slabs, in correspondence to the spatial arrangement of the rooms below, which both scales and articulates the massing of the house. The main bedroom suite cantilevers six meters over the patio below, providing protection from the weather, as well as “wow” factor. Large amounts of glazing optimize views of the indigenous bush that encapsulates the house, and together with the palette of raw materials including natural timber, off shutter concrete, water and natural stone cladding, offset the clean architectural lines with a warmth and Zen like ambiance”.
