Combining some Christmas winter activities doubles the fun and makes the whole experience a lot more memorable. Try to mix decorating a Christmas tree with making a snowman. `How` you ask? Simple and creative, after reading this few steps, you will make your holiday a bit unique. Here are the materials needed:

• white artificial Christmas tree;
• a huge matte white 12-inch Christmas ball;
• a marker;
• a couple of 30 inches silver glittered sprays;
• 3 black glitter Christmas ornaments;

Start with drawing eyes, nose and a mouth on the white 12-inch ball, and then set up the tree and place it on top. Like in an ordinary snowman, make his `coat` buttons out of the 3 black ornaments. Align them with the `face` and simply place them in a nice row downward. Next, add the couple of branch sprays where the snowman’s arms should be, about halfway up the tree. You should stuck them in the tree deep enough to remain in position and also point outward. In order to finish your one-of-a-kind project, decorate with some creativity. Watch the picture and feel fry to copy the design. An elegant hat, a cute scarf, some black boots, and a shovel will make the Christmas Tree Snowman look more natural. Top up with some lights and … it’s alive! Careful not to overcrowd the tree and your entire year will have a wonderful piece of winter theme decoration in the living room.

DIY Pom Pom Snowman https://goodshomedesign.com/diy-pom-pom-snowman/ https://goodshomedesign.com/diy-pom-pom-snowman/#comments Wed, 27 Nov 2013 10:04:08 +0000 http://goodshomedesign.com/?p=13721 DIY-Pom-Pom-Snowman

Around Christmas time, the best way you can have fun with your friends or family is to include them in some decorating activities. And you can double that fun by making your own decorations. This snowman made out of pom-poms is an easy project that will give you the cutest decoration in the neighborhood. First of all, make sure you have:
• white or cream colored yarn;
• a pair of scissors;
• craft glue (or hot glue gun);
• twigs from trees;
• ribbon or some buttons (or beads);
• pipe cleaning brushes;

Then, start the process of making the snowman, by fashioning two pom-poms of 9 cm (3.5″) and 6 cm (2.5″) in diameter. Tie them both together with their loose ends in a simple but tighten knot. You can act safer and tie a second knot. When finished with this, cut off the spare yarn.
Afterwards, using a pipe cleaning brush you will make a cute accessory. Roll up the ends of the brush and then bend it into a u-shape pair of ear-muffs. Or coil it up on itself for shaping a hat.
Make the arms by gluing twigs you can find lying on the ground outside, to the body of your little snowman. Use the glue further to put on eyes and a nose, with buttons or beads, onto the smaller `head` pom-pom. Fashion the piece of ribbon you have into a little scarf. Let your imagination free and decorate your unique snowman. Have fun!

DIY Snowman Painted Jars https://goodshomedesign.com/diy-snowman-painted-jars/ https://goodshomedesign.com/diy-snowman-painted-jars/#comments Wed, 20 Nov 2013 21:38:17 +0000 http://goodshomedesign.com/?p=13464 DIY-Christmas-Painted-Jars

Here is a cute tutorial for a DIY project which consists in a painted jar that has a snowman on it. So we’ll just call it Snowman Jar. As the winter holidays are approaching we thought this tutorial will help you bring the holiday spirit in your home. This craft was created using a glass jar, but you can also paint this nice snowman on any other surface, such as fabric and even wood. So here are the supplies you will need for this project:

• one glass jar (in this case)
• one liner brush
• one shadier brush
• one smaller brush
• brown and black colored craft pens
• white pen
• a toothbrush
• acrylic spray sealer, a matte one
• the pattern of the snowman
• and acrylic paint for the snowman ( green, white, red, blue, brown, golden and any other colors you’d like your snowman to be)

And now, let’s see the steps for making this craft:

1. Be sure that your jar is clean and label-free otherwise the paint won’t look good on it. So you’ll need a clean and washed surface on which to paint.

2. Apply the first coat of paint on the jar. In the picture we found this one was green, but you can get creative and use any other color you want. Let it dry and then apply a second coat of acrylic paint of the same color.

3. Now trace the pattern of the snowman and then start with painting the body, its clothes and cute face. For this you can use any of the colors above. Just let your imagination run free.

4. Now paint its arms and other little details such as the buttons on its coat. Again, you don’t need to make your snowman look just like the one in the picture we found, use your creativity to personalize it.

5. You can now use the black and brown pen to add some stitches to the snowman’s clothes. All you have to do now is write the text that says ‘snow place like home’ and with the use of the toothbrush, splatter white paint all over the jar. Looks like real snow, doesn’t it?

6. Now the last step is to take the acrylic spray sealer and spray the whole jar 2 or 3 times in order to fix the paint.

And that is all you need to do, to re/create this cute holiday decoration, that we are sure your children will love too.

DIY Light Bulb Snowman https://goodshomedesign.com/diy-light-bulb-snowman/ https://goodshomedesign.com/diy-light-bulb-snowman/#comments Sun, 17 Nov 2013 20:42:37 +0000 http://goodshomedesign.com/?p=13371 DIY-Light-Bulb-Snowman

A snowman can be hard to make, mainly if you don’t have snow or an ability to work in freezing temperatures. There is a solution to put into practice if your situation doesn’t meet the above mentioned requirements. Light bulb snowman is something you need to try and make, especially if you want a nicely decorated holiday.

light bulb;
• alcohol;
white acrylic paint;
ribbon;
• sock;
• buttons;
toothpicks;
glue;
• scissors;
marker;

The process is easy and you need to begin with rubbing alcohol on the light bulb. This will make the white paint stick to it much better. Let it dry. Apply another coat of paint, if you like. Cut the sock in a manner you can manufacture a hat for your little snowman. You attach the winter accessory to the top via a toothpick inserted into the muff, and covered with glue so the hat doesn’t fall off. Use the same glue on the belly of the snowman, where you place a couple of toothpick hands and nose, some buttons and a mitt or scarf. Draw eyes on your snowman and use the ribbon to knot a hanger. There you have it: your own little light bulb snowman.
