Succulent plants are still very popular on social media and as home decor elements, but what about cakes that look like succulents?
This new trend has taken the Internet by storm and Jakarta-based Ivenoven seems to be leading the game. Her floral cakes have gathered a lot of attention, especially the succulent-shaped cakes she has been creating for special events. Ivenoven’s cakes have beautifully colored frosting and are molded to resemble real-life succulents, attention to detail is a key feature.
The hardest part of making the cakes is the decoration, but using piping techniques and food coloring, she creates the leaves and spines of the plant.

Once the decorations are done, they are grouped together on top of the cakes and the beautiful arrangement almost comes alive before the viewer’s eyes. Ivenoven first started baking in 2013, when she first made Christmas cookies for her daughter and her colleagues, and slowly started experimenting with more intricate cake decorations.

Succulents are among the easiest plants to look after, as they are not pretentious and can resist in almost any environment. These plants have become very popular in recent years thanks to their cute shapes and Instagrammable looks, but these Haworthia cooperi succulents are game-changers.
They are very unusual looking ones and often called „clear succulents” because of their transparent aspect that is noticeable when the sun shines on them. The blue-green leaves are beautifully uncovered in the sun, and the succulent’s leaves become transparent bulbs. Haworthia copperi has its origins in Eastern Cape Province in South Africa and can be found growing protected, under the shade of a tree.
They prefer light, so it is advisable to keep them closet o windows, but if it gets too exposed to light then its tips will turn white. This is of course a very rare succulent, but you can buy seed from the Little Leaf Garden Etsy shop and try growing them at home.

Spray adhesive
Sphagnum moss

A plant owner who religiously watered her ‘perfect’ succulent for two years has discovered it was fake all along.

The woman said she kept her green plant alive on the kitchen window for all these years, and she would regularly clean the leaves.

But she was shocked after she realised the plant she loved and cared for turned out to be plastic after she decided it was time to re-pot it.

“I’ve had this beautiful succulent for about 2 years now. I was so proud of this plant. It was full, beautiful coloring, just an over all perfect plant. I had it up in my kitchen window. I had a watering plan for it, if someone else tried to water my succulent I would get so defensive because I just wanted to keep good care of it. I absolutely loved my succulent.” she said on Facebook.
