In order to make this impressive small barrel or container out of regular clothespins and a can of chips, here is what you will need to do. Make sure you have the following materials before you start building your small and cute DIY barrel:

• a small can of Pringles;
• a bunch of clothespins;
• a glue gun;
• some nicely patterned fabric;
• a pair of scissors;
• a roll of rope;
• a round lid you will fashion;
• a small wood knob;

Start by covering the inside and top part of the can of Pringles with the desired fabric. You can use double-sided tape at this point. Do the same with a lid. You can take any jar lid or better yet fashion one from a piece of cardboard. Use the glue gun to attach a circular block of wood (which should fit slightly into the can) to it and cover this whole structure in fabric. No need to worry about the fabric being securely in place even because it will be mainly covered with rope and wood later on. Now, dislodge the clothespins so you are left with only the individual sticks of wood to work with. Take the glue gun again and attach each half of the clothespin to the can, like shown in the picture. When the entire can has been covered with clothespins, use rope to tie around them. This is for decorative purposes as well as practical ones. Three separate layers (one at the top, one in the middle, and one at the bottom) of rope should suffice. Next, glue the wood knob onto the lid and the rope at the base of the lid. You can add a couple o ladybugs to your nice piece of decoration. It looks great!

DIY Pringles Vintage Box https://goodshomedesign.com/diy-pringles-vintage-box/ https://goodshomedesign.com/diy-pringles-vintage-box/#respond Mon, 03 Feb 2014 14:40:08 +0000 http://goodshomedesign.com/?p=14709 DIY-pringles-vintage_box

If you see it for the first time, you wouldn’t guess this nice looking vintage box is made out of a Pringles can! You can also do this DIY project and impress all of your friends with your awesome skills. Use the box for keeping your glasses or jewelry safe. To achieve this, you will need:

• a large can of Pringles;
• a thick piece of cardboard;
• some colored paper;
• a pair of scissors;
• a cutter;
• some beads;
• a marker;
• a bit of lace;
• some glue;
• a needle and thread;
• a decorative button;
• a nice piece of elastic;

First, remove the top ring from the can. Now, depending on how long you want your box to be, cut the excess from the bottom side away. Take the resulting tube, and with the help of a cutter fashion a horizontal opening into it. Remember to leave the top intact, meaning it needs to remain one piece, half a tube if you will.

Now, make a couple of cardboard circles with the piece of the bottom that you’ve cut earlier. Cover them in colored paper or paint them, it’s your choice. Also, make sure your can is also covered with some pattern or colored paper. After you’ve done with this step, stick the circles with some glue onto the sides of the half-tube. This part is tricky, because you will have to keep the Pringles open!

Next, glue the beads on the bottom side, to act like legs. The final step is to fashion a small hole on the upper side for inserting the ends of the elastic. Complete the opening device by needle and thread a fancy decorative button to the bottom side. Decorate the opening with the piece of lace. Give the rest of the can (now box) a vintage look.

DIY Flower Vase Made Out Of A Pringles Can https://goodshomedesign.com/diy-flower-vase-pringles/ https://goodshomedesign.com/diy-flower-vase-pringles/#comments Thu, 16 Jan 2014 11:31:17 +0000 http://goodshomedesign.com/?p=14339 DIY-pebble-flower-vase-pringles

I often come to think about DIY as a school. Not because you constantly learn something new, but because you are pleasantly surprised by all the stuff people around the world come up with. This pebbled flower base, made out of a Pringles can, is one great example of that. The picture with the finished product can fool almost anyone that it is an expensive piece of garden decoration. But it’s not! It’s a simple handmade project. Here is what you need to do to have the same:

• a can of Pringles;
• rubber seal coating;
• spray adhesive;
• a can of Mod Podge;
• a bunch of rocks;
• some grout;
• a knife;
• water, paint brush and paper towels;
• a sponge;

First, take the rubber seal coating and apply it on the inside of the Pringles can. This will prevent water from flowers to leak. Then, place the can on its side. You can now spray the adhesive. Work with one section at a time. Next, put the rocks at your disposal onto the Pringles and make a nice pattern out of them. Do the same for the other sections and let the whole can to dry for a while. It’s time for the grout. With the help of a knife, spread it in sections. Before it has time to dry rub the grout off as much rocks as you can, while pushing it between the rocks. Use some paper towel and water on a paint brush to work across the rocks. In the end, apply on the rocks with a movement of a moist sponge. After the grout dries over the night, layer the rocks with a bit of Mod Podge to give it a shine and leave to dry. Fill your vase with water and put some beautiful flowers to gaze at.
