Most houses have simple stairs, without storage place, but if the owners would see these pictures probably would have thought it would be useful to make such an idea. The space under stairs is valuable and it goes unused most of the times. It is better if you can make some drawers under the stairs that fit the stairs perfectly and do not affect in any way the function of the stairs nor do they prevent walking upstairs. I think this is an original and great idea to use the space under the stairs for storing slippers, magazines, tools, socks and so on.
great ideas!
Great ideas only in the pictures where nothing has compromised the stair stringers (e.g., the last two pictures, and the wine storage example). I wonder if a building inspector would sign off on stairs supported as poorly as those shown in the first photo.
great ideas..
The staircase side compartments where brought to life by Eloise Milan long ago but the step drawers are an unique touch of this showcase.
I expect the stair steps are supported in the wall and don’t need anything underneath a bit like the invisible glass ones you see. They have no supports and just float out the wall.

I thought staircase can only block space in a apartment but how useful can it be I just realized.
The idea of having stairs that open out into the stair itself is fundamentally dangerous. Imagine walking down the stairs not fully paying attention and stepping into an open stair drawer.
Mark is correct that these are dangerous. I’m not always good about closing drawers – and no one can prove that they bat 100% on that score.
Good ideas for those with many items with small space in their home.
