Toda Huts

The Toda people are a small tribe that lives on the hill country of Southern India. They live in tiny homes, called munds or Toda huts, which are characterized by an oval shape and a size that is 10 feet (3 m) high, 18 feet (5.5 m) long and 9 feet (2.7 m) wide. The base material for these homes is bamboo and rattan and each home is considered to be complete when it has a wall of loose stones. The Toda have their very own art and the most typical to the region is rock painting that can also be observed on their home’s entrances. If you wish to learn more about the Toda people and their way of living, you should check the link below for more information.
