This luxurious home in Beverly Hills will leave a footprint on your memory. A combination of functionality and architectural beauty is what architect Marc Whipple wanted to imprint the viewers with. He used sharp angles intertwined with plants, water and art work, as well as glass and contrasting textures to give the feeling you are in an exotic resort and yet still live in the famous Californian community. The unconventional design was achieved at Laurel Way Residence because of the mindset that each room should be treated as a distinct jewel of architecture and function meantime at its fullest potential.
The indoor is connected to the natural world by large glass panels, as well as a striking combination of green and rather soft organisms with some cold and hard materials. Wood – in the 14 foot entry door, walls and furniture – is also used to make full of an exotic and yet modern experience. The natural expression can be felt all-through the house, with small patches of grass popping symmetrically on the terrace, or plants lurking beneath stairs and hanging on the exterior walls. The outside Jacuzzi hot-tub and Infinity pool completes the water-plant-concrete ménage. Meanwhile, the interior is fitted for a 21st urban technological oriented life, with a home theater room, a modern kitchen and a see-through garage.
