Entire Michigan island hits market with cabin home accessible by man-made land bridge

A cabin has hit the market on a little island in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and the entire island itself is also part of the purchase.

The home is located at 574 Red Road in Michigamme and is surrounded by Lake Michigamme, which is about an hour west of Marquette.

Both the cabin and the 1.65 acre island are listed for $375,000. On top of that, there’s a small second island just .10 acres in size. The property was listed a few weeks ago and has generated so much buzz, it has already received multiple offers.

The 1,326-square-foot home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It has had just one owner, who built it back in 1991.

The home has been so well maintained and everything is in such great condition. Down to the very last detail, everything is just so well constructed. You can see the sunrise and sunset from the wrap-around deck. The home was just so well thought out. It just may need some updating in some spots is all.

The deck gives the homeowner different views of the lake from all sides. There’s also a living area on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the lake, which could be turned into a third bedroom. The log cabin also has a new stamped metal roof.
