Mel make sure you don’t cover the leaves when they grow. you continue to cover when they grow to avoid them being covered.

They’ve put the steps in brackets now in the text. It’s basically: Get a barrel, get potatoes, plant them, keep adding compost as they grow, harvest. This is VERY basic and for full advice look up on line about chitting your potatoes and when to Harvey. You can get containers with a door in them so you don’t have to wait until the leaves have died back to Harvey but one can poke around and pull out the big ones – Not ideal cos you’ll disturb the roots for they other small potatoes.
