Gabriel Clark is one very talented 12-year-old boy, whose passion for woodworking contributed to a noble cause. Clark lives in the United Kingdom and was feeling discouraged due to the lack of followers on his woodworking Instagram page.
Clark’s father, Richard R Clark, is a famous writer who has more than 20,000 followers on Twitter, and he decided to offer a helping hand to his son. He posted his son’s works on Twitter, encouraging everyone who has a passion for woodworking to follow Gabriel’s page and encourage him in his endeavors. Gabriel’s goal was to reach the number of 60 followers, as his initial page had only 6, but woke up the next day with 33,000 new fans.
By the end of the week, he managed to reach an incredible number of 225,000 followers and lots of messages of appreciation and support. All this attention generated 20,000 wooden bowl orders for Gabriel, which would take him 32 years to complete. So instead of making business, as usual, Gabriel decided to make just one special bowl and auction it.
The profits would go to Save the Children’s Ukraine Appeal, and until today Gabriel managed to raise the amazing amount of almost a quarter of a million pounds. Such an inspiring story, showcasing the bright side of the Internet and social media attention.
Not only that, he had over 20,000 orders for bowls and chopping boards, which, he calculated, would take him 32yrs to fulfil. And now the press were knocking at the door.
