DIY Christmas Ball Ornaments

DIY-Christmas-ball

If you want your Christmas tree to be one-of-a-kind, you will need to put some effort in designing your own decorations. But effort is an overstatement, because these sequins-balls are easy to make and lots of fun to design. All you need are pins, a Styrofoam or any other kind of foam ball, and – of course – sequins, those disk-shaped beads used for decorative purposes. Choose one color you like or, better yet, use multiple colors to make your ball into an artistic mosaic. Without hurting your fingers, place the pins through every sequin like shown in the image, until you are left with an empty spot. There, you can attach a hooked pin to make it hang on your Christmas tree. Or simply fill the surface with sequins and use it anytime of the year as a decoration, not just at holidays. It’s your choice. But it’s a fun choice.

It would be shild frendly IF you put the needle in some transperant glue after putting the bling on the needle 🙂 then it would be stuck.

i used to this with my kids when they where little,[ over 20yrs ago] they seem too love it. but you need to put glue on the pins or they work there way out and fall out. it is really stunning when complete, you can do whatever design you like BUT it is really time comsuming

I think the “hook pin” is what you put on it to hold it to the tree.

looks amazing! But I would get frustrated and quit after about the second row.

I would make one suggestion… Place the sequin on the pin and then dip the pin into white glue just before inserting it into the Styrofoam Ball. By doing this, it will help ensure the pin will stay in place and any white glue that may be pushed up the pin shaft will stay on the back of the sequin.
