DIY Entry Bench

Are you eager to improve the décor in your home? We have just the thing for you. This tutorial will show you how to make an entry bench or a `hall tree` out of a couple of old doors and an unused drawer. With less than 55 $, you can also hand-make this gorgeous piece of furniture. Here is what you’ll need:

• 30 inches wide door(s);
• an old drawer;
• Kreg jig;
• glue;
• finish nails;
• paint;
• satin Poly Whey;
• decorative hooks and doorknob;

The first piece you have to work on is the old door. Strip the layer of white paint off it so your entry bench won’t be confused with the entrance to a closet. Then, take two panels from another door to form the sides. Fashion the bench seat from an old shelf, but if you have plenty of material, it can easily be from the other door. Make sure you use as much reclaimed wood as you can. Next, figure out how the pieces will align before actually gluing and nailing them to the entire `hall tree`. And finally, apply the paint and satin Poly Whey and leave to dry before attaching the hooks. All done!
