Old items of clothing aren’t only good for donating or throwing away. Cool idea with the T-Shirt-bag!
Your knot could be improved by changing the arrangement of the two ends at the second part of the knot. Makes the knot flatter and more unlikely to loosen up.

a “real” handbag out of a t-shirt? really? wow, a bag from t-shirts are more for fun and yeah you can even take it in public….who is going to look at your bag the way it’s made?

Yuck. It might be okay for the farmers market but nothing else. It’s truly ugly.
maybe you have a t-shirt or sweater made from angora or something that might look better? you can always sit and take time to handsew or machine sew the straps as a seam and the bottom as a straight edge if you like. takes all the fun out of it though. something you can help a child with, he/she can say they did it mostly them-self.
I think this is a great girl scout project as it is and for the snobs that thought it was horrible….they can always change it up to make it their own and beautiful unless they need someone to do that for them too…………then they can just go to town and buy a new expensive purse that is worthy of their adoration.
i think it’s a great idea for small kids who want to have a purse and you don’t have to spend a lot. great for going to the beach, carrying books to and from the library. any number of uses. especially if you seem to collect plastic bags from the grocery store, store them in there, take the whole bag, empty it back at the store and use it to put some groceries in. and girl scouts would be able to make those as projects for older people to use in nursing homes, hospitals, etc, to hang on the bed rail or their walker handles with things they use mostly (since the beds aren’t close to the nightstands anymore). certainly a lot of nay-sayers….must be the anti-thrifty, anti-crafty people~
To all of you saying this bag is horrible… Instead of blatantly dissing it, why not pull out your creative caps and make suggestions on how it could be improved instead of just saying how bad it is! I think this is a great idea if you have a sewing machine or even a needle and some yarn or thick thread! Then you could sew the bottom instead of tying it.. It would be less bulky in the bottom that way! Neat idea! Thanks for making the video.
Not sure why you wouldn’t just take a tank top to make this. Run rope through the bottom hem. And yeah to all the nay sayers above I think with a little imagination on the pattern and front of the tank top it could be nice … may still need to cut out some of arms to get it over shoulder. I think some nice tight rope decorative binding at the top to hold the two arms together would be nice as well … I have a few heavy duty tank tops that would make nice beach bags !!!

I think this is a great tutorial! What a great thing to be able to make with a tee shirt that might be ready for the rag bag in a matter of minutes! My little grand daughter and her school friend took a lot of pride in the ‘sleepover bags’ they made by themselves. Fancy stuff comes later. This is a wonderful beginning project. Shame on the snobs here 🙁
ok ok you might not use it for a date night BUT no need to be rude!! I think it would be great for a shopping bag or beach bag and like others said great for kids too!!
I think this is a good idea though I’m not keen on the one big knot. I’d rather a row of smaller knots then the bottom of the bag would be wider. Would definitly make this bag for bringing home groceries or for my daughter for a sleep over or swimming bag.
I agree, this is a great project for children to make as gifts. They can decorate it for even more creative/personalized fun! For all of the illmanered people paying negative comments. …… what does the video maker owe you? Not a gosh darn THING! You act like you paid for something!Or beget yet are ENTITLED to something here. Instead of sitting on your ass griping make your own video putting your better ideas out there for people such as yourselves to comment on.
Cute way to use old shirts I want to keep. I want to do the quilt idea too but my baby girl would love having all these bags and I hate taling my purse everywhere. Great wait to carry my phone and wallet on those occasion s love the no sewing idea
