DIY Project: Recycled Old Dresser Makeover

old-dresser-before

Having pretty looking furniture doesn’t always imply buying the most expensive stuff. You can turn 30 year-old furniture into a lovely piece that will look great in your home. The project featured in the photos involves an old dresser taken literally from the dump and transformed into a valuable piece of furniture. Start with a good sanding of the whole thing. A relaxing paint job will definitely make it look great. The top drawer of the old piece was kept and only the other two were pulled out. The final look is that of a vintage piece…. Good luck and make sure when you need an improvement to your home’s interior design, try the DIY alternative and recycle old furniture! A DIY project by Erica Deuel..

Ugh. I could NEVER do something like this to a beautiful old chest of drawers. It’s more beautiful as an antique! And for you to call this dresser “30 year old furniture” is ridiculous since it’s obviously closer to 75 years old! Must be a 20-something writing the article…so please do your diligent research!

That chest is *not*younger than me!

Should have done a dark stain and changed drawer knob, s to silver or glass….thats my opinion anyway ..

I agree. People, please STOP ruining beautiful antique furniture in order to turn it into some hideously painted hipster piece of junk. What a tragedy.

That was once beautiful and is now hideous, what a waste

  6. Lemur says:

It looked way better before. You’ve totally ruined it.
