    Would this method work to contain bamboo? Or would the roots still go through the holes and spread?

    If you add a liner of landscape fabric to the hole you’ll be guaranteed to stop the potential bamboo escape. Take root cuttings from what gets beyond the container for transplant

    I’ve been doing this for 20 years. For permanent plants just remove the bottom of pot. Drip system is a must, and excellent for weed control.
