Louis Vuitton realises unbuilt Charlotte Perriand beach house in Miami

This stunning house with a geometric design is a truly inspiring architectural work. The designer, Charlotte Perriand lay down on paper the concept of this house in 1934, but unfortunately never saw the house completed as he only lay down the ideas on paper and never saw the finished work. Louis Vuitton, the French fashion house, built the house as an installation for the Miami Design exhibition, as a tribute to Perriand. The name of the project in French is La maison au bord de l’eau, which means the house at the water’s edge and it was built on the beach at the Raleigh Hotel, Miami Beach in 2014. The interior was furnished and decorated by Julie de Libran, the creative director of Louis Vuitton and it is as stunning as its outdoors. She also received help from Perriand’s estate, so the sketches would look as real and accurate in reality as possible. The prints and leather elements in the decoration can also be found in the 2014th LV’s icônes spring summer collection, which was actually inspired by Perriand too.

The highlight of this project were the perriand-themed windows created at the 468 Louis Vuitton fashion stores all over the world. If you’re a fan of interior design, you will notice the Le Corbusier-like elements in furnishing of the interior and this is not a mistake. Charlotte Perriand work with Le Corbusier between 1927-1937 and his influence on her style is highly visible. The truth is that words are not enough to describe this amazing and unique home, which was brought to life by the Louis Vuitton team, so if you want to know more about this breathtaking home, visit the link below for pictures and you will even find out a but more about the story behind it.

I would love to have seen more color on the inside… It look’s like a beach version of a cabin in the woods.

Great house, as long as you don’t own any stuff…
