Spacious Container House Made of 8 Shipping Containers

You might think that homes made out of shipping containers aren’t spacious. Or that people who resort to this architectural alternative make a compromise of utility over comfort. The project we’re about to show you proves all of the above to be wrong. The home you see in the photos used 8 shipping containers in its built and has a beautiful interior design! You wouldn’t even imagine what good taste and style lies behind the red metallic doors of the containers. Patrick Partouche made the choice for an industrial interior design style in order to fit with the whole architectural concept, although the space has all a modern home can deliver: spacious living, bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, and a modern décor. The original doors of the 8 pieces were preserved so they could act as shutters, but each end of the container is fitted with a large window, this way allowing the natural light to engulf the entire interior. Check out all of the photos and change your opinion about building a house with shipping containers.

    That is so awesome

  3. Although they are very sturdy, they are built for a specific purpose, and customizing them for housing requirements takes extra planning and thought. Specifically, you need to increase the structural integrity of the containers. The loads are meant to be distributed in a specific manner, which in many cases is not similar to the structural layout of a house, bunker, or shelter. This is especially true when placing containers underground (which has gained a lot of interest in the last couple of years).

On the low end you could probably build one for $10,000. A decent one would cost around $20k to $30k. This has to be at least a $200,000-$300,000 build.

We sell conversion kits, that can be used to quickly insulate a 20′ container. Its a good option for people that are looking to do a weekend cabin or something similar.

Just thought I would add some info that will be helpful. We sell containers in the USA. Here is our facebook page

The budget of such an interior exclude the choice of containers as a home.

Hello, I am interested in building a shipping container home. I live in rural Utah on 14 acres of mountain back. The spot I want to build on is beautiful. I am wondering if I could be contacted by someone to help me. The view is gorgeous but it would be from the front of the house. I also want to get the same amount of rooms and space that currently have. This includes four bedrooms, three baths an office and a generous sized living and dinning room. I have some ideas drawn out on grid paper but don’t know where to go from here. I need plans drawn up to move forward. We have done some research on foundation and insulated and welding. We have a place to get the containers and a few options on who could deliver and put the containers in place by crane. My husband can do the foundation and we have a good friend contractor that would do the welding and interiors once we have plans. Is this something you could help me with? We would like to move forward with this bit r a bit stuck. Hope to here from you.
    Thanks
