Stylish Vessel Design

When we think about relaxation, the first thing popping in our minds is a bathtub or a hammock. So why not have the both experiences is one? That is exactly what the designers of Splinter Works thought when they designed this bathtub. Splinter Works was formed in 2009 and is a collaboration between Miles Hartwell and Matt Withington. Their mission is to create sculptural furniture that is engaging and inspiring.  Combining the relaxing elements of a hammock with the comfort of a bathtub they created the Vessel. This is a suspended bathtub that doesn’t touch the floor and it is fixed with stainless steel brackets. When filling the bath water flows through a standing tap and the waste water is released into a floor drain. In case you had a hard day at work, this bathtub will help you relax and forget about your problems.

I am jealous of the lady who had the privilege of being in your photo…I could so use something that is that relaxing!

    Nice Job!

It’s not deep enough for me.
That is my major pet peeve with new tubs…they are NEVER deep enough.
I would love to have an old fashioned claw foot tub, like the one I had in my apartment in Burlington Vermont.
    Long and deep!
Now, if they could make this hammock tub deeper, then, yeah, I’d dig it!

Wow! Very quirky, if only I had enough money and not to mention bathroom space for something this cool! But we can all dream…. 🙂
