The Concept That Generates Electricity Every Time You Turn on the Tap

You don’t commonly get to think about your own home as a source of energy and certainly not something as basic as a faucet. Truth is that with a simple ingenious solution, you could have the amazing possibility to produce some electric energy by using water! Yes, it sounds tricky at first, but when you see the ES Pipe Waterwheel in detail, you’ll understand. Thanks to the Korean designer  Ryan Jongwoo Choi, the world has now a simple method to generate power at home from flowing water. This is due to the mini turbines installed in the pipe which allow electricity to be produced when you turn on the tap. The faucet which generates electricity has been a finalist concept in the 2012 International Design Excellence Awards and it’s even more impressive because the energy created can be stored for future use. It is so easy to install: just install the ES Pipe between the water pipe and source of water, connect the bulb to device and you’re good to go. Check it out if you don’t believe us!

Are these available to us to purchase?

  2. Steve Frazier says:

How much water pressure is needed to get this device going?

  3. Prashant says:

    Genius!!

  4. Steve Spence says:

Cute design, but unworkable in application. Could generate $0.05 worth of electricity per day, but would use $9 worth of water doing it. Net loss.

  5. Donna says:

It would be more efficient to place it on the incoming water line; any faucet usage, throughout the property would turn the turbines.

  6. Huey says:

Definitely just an all round bad idea. Generators must be bigger to be more efficient, this is doing nothing but reducing your water pressure.

  7. Ryan says:

Bettet use of this technology would be in a large scale application. Upside it to an industrial le el and incorporate it an high pressure points in municipal water lines to create energy for the grid.
