A Floating Forest: Urban Installation in Rotterdam

Wouldn’t it be nice if your art project would be transformed into a huge urban renewal project? Well, in Rotterdam, the local collective Mothership is doing exactly that. The floating forest of trees draws inspiration from Jorge Bakker’s `In Search Of Habitus` project. What began as a simple tree set to grow on water, with a special platform made for it, is now becoming literally a forest! The example given by the artist has been multiplied and thus transformed into a lung of fresh air right on water. Check out the photos to see how the entire system works and how the end result is envisioned. Just imagine how your forgotten lake will look like with some of these special trees.
