This recipe is absolute genius. Can I achieve the same results with a generic cupcake mix?

    • Babs says:

It looks like a great recipe, but one thing seems odd. The second brownie tray that goes on top, are we saying to spray the outside where it fits into the brownie mix or do you spray where brownie mix would go?

      • Regina says:

yes u spray the outside that goes on the Brownie mix…

      • Patty says:

Babs, on the 2nd tin you spray the bottom side that touches the brownie mix.

      • SUE says:

YOU COULD NOT FIGURE THAT OUT YOURSELF, BY LOOKING AT THE PHOTO;S. DO YOU BAKE AT ALL?

        • Linda says:

          Hey Sue!

What’s all the anger about? Perhaps if you’re that angry about things, you shouldn’t be using social media and venting on people who are just asking a question. Take it down a notch, please!

        • Kittie says:

Sue, just a note……….I try not to bake or cook for that matter but this seems appealing as well as easy to accomplish. I like Babs found it odd that they didn’t say which side to spray. Not that I didn’t assume it would be the part that touched the brownie mix but they were in fact giving instructions.

          growwlll…

        • Cindy says:

Hahahahahahahaha I absolutely love your response to Babs question!

      • Bonnie says:

Babs, it took me a few seconds to get it as well. LOL! I was just focusing on the words in the recipe and not looking at the photos. … Heehee! I’m not a good baker either! I always end up burning stuff to dust! Ohhhh well, worth a try. Look at it as an experiment, science project for grade school. LMAO!

No question is dumb or stupid. This is a learning experience that some aren’t familiar with. Keep all negative comments to yourself, no cyber bullying please.

  2. Diane says:

To Raymond Jones – I’m guessing you could use any kind of cake mix or brownie mix you could probably even use a biscuit mix and put stew inside. This idea is a great one.

  3. Heather says:

me and my daughter tried making these they did not turn out not sure what I did wrong did spray the tins but they still stuck ??.

  4. Sara Ogg says:

does it make a difference whether you make the brownies cake like or chewy?

  5. Ann says:

Sue, No need to be rude…

  6. Cheryl says:

Maybe we should used the little paper cups that are for muffins and cupcakes.

    Hi fellow bakers and wannabees.

  8. Jenni says:

I am looking at this, thinking how are the brownies going to bake like cups like that with the muffin tin on top while baking. I am curious if it would work to bake the brownies in the tins, but press the other muffin tin into them as soon as they come out of the oven, or put it on in the last 5 or 10 min?

  9. sara says:

That makes so much sense Jenni! I’m going to try that!

  10. Bonnie says:

Hummm.. that sound like a great plan Jenni, bygotit, I think you’re right Miss Jenni

  12. Anna says:

Do I tried to make this, but my brownies did not come out with a bowl like shape. They rose to the top of pan and barely had an over flow for the rim. And yes I had the second muffin pan on top of the them. The brownies rose to the bottom of the top pan. They looked flat instead of a bowl. Did I put too much batter or should have pressed down more on the top pan?

  13. Kim says:

Right thats what I was thinking, how would it cook with the other muffin pan on top.?

  14. Lana says:

Jenni, please let us know if your way works!

  15. lorie says:

I was thinking exact same thing

  16. Pat says:

in response to Jenn’s comment…I was thinking the same thing,,,,of cooking them nearly completely …then putting the second muffin tin on top just to get the shape of the bowl….I guess you would have to gently press it down….best to do these things when still hot….I decorate cakes…and know that’s the best time to shape or do anything to a cake….must try it….

  17. eumeka says:

Did anyone try take the top pan and pressing it down into the batter til the batter came up around the pan before baking .or try putting some water into the top muffin pan to create a weight so that it does not rise as the muffin rises

  18. Sandy says:

You can also put beans or small pebbles i top muffin tin for weight

  19. Lillian says:

  21. Verbena says:

  22. Mandy says:

  23. Hozumi says:

I made these, and although I LOVE brownies, just as much as the next dude, I had to change the recipe a bit. Instead of using cupcake tins, I used an edge brownie pan, y’know the one that gives you edges for every brownie. Then instead of brownies, I used my own concoction that I make for my kids all the time. I will now give you guys the recipe:
    1 egg
    2 tbsps ketchup
    2 tbsps flour
    1 tbsp icing sugar
    3 tsps yeast
1 cup warm water with 1 tbsp sugar (to activate the yeast)
Mix all of the above ingredients together, then cover for thirty minutes. Afterwards pour into the edge brownie pan. Cover with another, from that point on, you follow the recipe, except instead of ice cream I really enjoy meatloaf.
