It’s not uncommon to make dents in your wood furniture. Some might be so upset of this that they will throw away and buy a new piece. That’s not only expensive but also a counterproductive thing to do, because you can salvage the damaged piece of wood. We are happy to show you this next DIY project that will help you remove dents from wood so good you might be tempted to think there’s magic involved. Actually, the trick lies in using an iron on the dent. Surprisingly, the steam from the home appliance will make your dent push back out of the wood. Additionally, you will require a rag or t-shirt and water. Be careful though, you mustn’t iron the piece of wood directly; that’s where the rag and water come in handy. At the end, if the result isn’t as smooth as you like it, take some sandpaper and apply to the afflicted area. Take a look over the tutorial and make your dented piece of wood almost good as new! Feel free to share your work with us!
You’ll need the following:
- An iron
- Paper towel.
- Water
What if there is lacquer on top of the wood? Would it still work or turn the lacquer a different color?
Unless the lacquer is made of leprechaun blood, it’s just as damaged as the wood underneath it. Nothing’s perfect. You’re going to have to relacquer.
lol@doug! 😉
This works,… but works best on softer wood. The harder it is, the harder it will be to dent and to undent…
Brilliant! Do you know what the heat setting is on the iron, and approximately how long you need to hold down the iron before you check the wood? Thanks!
putting semen on the board before ironing works best. So work one out and carefully place you’re load in the dent and iron at setting 4.
James,
You’re a pervert and you make me want to vomit.
If you can’t add a comment of actual substance to the conversation, just shut up.
Yes, you are part of what’s wrong with the world. Sicko.
