Free time or spare time is more and more consumed by electronic devices? Even when people go out to have a coffee with their friends, technology seems to take over usual conversations. It’s not rare to see people dive their faces into smart-phones, forgetting most of the times there are persons to interact to in their immediate vicinity. The same thing happens at home, when the TV or laptops are preferred over a classic book or the daily newspaper. Maybe the fault is in the way things were designed. One popular joke to say whenever a fresh acquaintance says the don’t own a TV set, is `but where is your furniture facing at?` An answer to this kind of issue can be found in the Open Book Chair. The designers from Studio Tilt wanted to bring books closer to you. And so, they have managed to blend a regular comfortable chair with a handy reading-inspiring bookcase.
One side of the chair is featured with a newspaper rack, like the ones found in cafes or barbershops. And the other side is a nice rectangular set of open bookcases that are ready to store your albums, books and magazines. The minimalistic decoration-scarce design is intentionally thought in this manner, so you can focus on what book to open up and read next. Sounds tempting, right?
I would so love to have one of these, where can I find them?
It is really awesome as I have not seen anything like that before. Open book chair, that is really something very unique to read about. Keep posting such different things as it is really refreshing. Thanks for this post.
I bet we could make this!
