The Mud and Wood House

This very natural and back to basics home was built in Skreen, County Sligo, Ireland by the owners Colin and Feile. The house is made out of cob, straw bale and natural edge wood and the final product turned out to be even better as they first expected. It all started after the two attended a cob workshop for 10 days and after that the plans for the home started to outline in their heads. Cob homes are quite widespread in Ireland and mastering the art of building them is not an easy task. These kinds of homes are highly sustainable and relatively cheap, so they can be a great choice for those who are on a tight budget and want a traditional house. Take a look at the beautiful and nicely finished interior of this house and make sure you watch the video too, so you can find out more about Colin and Felie’s project.
