This Robot Planter Follows The Sunlight & Throws Tantrums If You Don’t Water It

Forgetting to water your plants or simply watering them incorrectly, can cause problems that will affect their health and aspect. Since having plants in your home has lots of benefits, it is highly important to nurture them in the right way.
If you have a lot of plants home but don’t know how to care for them properly, then this little robot planter called Hexa Plant might come in handy.
The planter was designed by Sun Tianqi, the creative mind behind Vingross who go the idea after seeing a dead sunflower at an exhibition. That plant could have been easily saved if placed in the right sport, one with plenty of sunlight.

Hexa can walk toward the light when the plant is in need of some sun and rotate or spin to get the right amount of sunlight. The robot has six legs and various sensors that help it move

But even though plants feel the need for sun and water, they cannot move and express their feeling, so they need our attention and help.
That’s when Tianqi thought about a clever way in which the plant would take ownership of its life with the help of an intelligent pot. So, the robot planter he designed, will look for the best spots of the plant placed inside, whether it is sunlight or shade, and even throws a tantrum if it needs watering.

The Hexa Plant was designed for a medium sized-plant and has an infrared and distance sensor and a 720p camera with night vision. It can also be connected to the Internet through WiFi and can interact with persons when touched.
