Looks promising..but to be completely radical the framework needs to go..and the Base? What does it do to the weight? Interested in the concept but not sure of the reality in the field….

  2. Darryl Smith says:

I like the concept but I wonder if it wouldn’t be cost prohibitive

I’d like to see cost and specs. And most people will be miserable in a -30 tent, that’s insane. If it weights more than 5#’s it’s pointless.

I would not bet my life on this one. Have anyone tested this patent at all? Your body have to heat the big empty space inside the tent, and that will give your body a tremendous heat loss .
If you sleep outdoors in -30C, you cant have a lot of cold air around your body (believe me, I have camped outdoors in both -30C and -40C).
To get a comfy night in those temperatures, you need a tight sleepingbag with good fit and you need to dress properly before you tuck in.
Try this one in a very controlled enviroment first, if you plan to use it on a hike in the winter.
You don’t play around in -30C! To survive then, you have to know what you do and why you do it.

For the low, low price of . . . OMG!!!!!!

Buy a bivy tent and add your own sleeping bag, EUREKA has one for $80.00 Whats the difference?

Was thinking pretty much the same thing 🙂

I’d be concerned about suffocating if it snowed a lot one night. And bears…. One bite and you’re done.

    Interesting design 🙂
